For well over a decade, Chris and Amberlie and many others have prayed for a spouse for each of them. During services they would each ask the church family to pray for them; all the while, they were sitting on opposite sides of the church the entire time! It wasn't until July (about 5 months attending Amberlie's church), before Chris went up to her and asked if she had a boyfriend. Ironically, neither of them were attracted to each other initially, and Amberlie rejected Chris after the second date.

Neither of them had much experience when it came to dating. However, even from the beginning, they both wanted marriage as the ideal end. The first 3 months were tricky navigating feelings of too early-too soon, but they stayed prayerful, along with those around them, to help navigate to a place of confidence and clarity.​ The Lord is faithful and gave them just that. 

Chris, with the help of his and Amberlie's family, caught her completely off guard with a proposal for marriage at the Jacksonville Zoo during the 'Colors of the Wild' event. It was a sweet time for both families, and joyful tears were had all around.

These days, they are coasting together gleefully as they await their wedding day! The wedding won't be grand and extravagant but know it will be a sweet and joyous thing for you to see. We gladly welcome you to come celebrate with us!
